Although Chicago born and raised, Phil Dunn considers himself a South Carolina artist. This Pulitzer-Nominated photographer recently completed a three-decade career as chair and distinguished professor of art at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Recently, his landscapes and digital photomontages have been exhibited in several group ad one-person shows including: Images from the Digital Domain, A Fool for Art, Montage, Six Decades of Leadership, and Mirror Image. He has also completed major commissions for the University of South Carolina, the palmetto Health/Richland Memorial Hospital Brain Imaging Center, the USC Technology Incubator, SCANA, Holiday Inn Express, Starwood Hotels & resorts, Wingate Inns, and the Sandy Beach Resort.

Primarily a landscape photographer, Dunn's recent work involves using a landscape as a motif (a repeated element) in constructing photo-montages that challenge the viewer to deconstruct the image to find the "nugget of reality" that forms the basis for the artwork. Phil also continues to create traditional landscapes, and is frequently commissioned to create images for corporate collections, hotels, and resorts.
